Building Sustainable Futures for Mountain Communities.
Our mountain and rural communities are growing at an unprecedented pace – and with that growth comes the need for smarter, more resilient infrastructure. At MTEC, we’ve always known that life is better in the mountains, and we’re commuted to keeping it that way. From One Water solutions to LEED and Envision-certified design, we help communities plan capital projects that balance growth with sustainability. By aligning infrastructure with the values of resilience and environmental stewardship, we create lasting benefits for people, places, and the planet.

Our Services Foster Long-Term Sustainable Growth for Client Communities
One Water
Water is critical to life. Source water protection, drinking water and wastewater treatment methods, stormwater management, reduction and reuse opportunities, and synergistic planning for these interconnected systems contribute to sustaining both the infrastructure and ecosystems behind this invaluable resource. Overuse and unnecessarily burdensome impacts in one of these systems can upset the balance of all the others. We can help identify solutions that bring the best suited combination of affordability, reduced impacts, and ability to maintain well into the future.
Consulting for Sustainable Growth
Sustainable growth consulting is the way forward for balancing long-standing character with evolving needs. Strategic planning for overlapping and integrated services and systems requires broad knowledge of many components and the ability to visualize how they best fit together. We apply experience ranging from rural to highly urban settings across the country to build unique community strategies from the strengths and weaknesses of the systems and sectors that make up each special place. We can help in myriad areas including level of service commitments and staffing plans, community engagement tactics, recommendations for analysis and future planning, and more.
Infrastructure
Sustainable infrastructure systems are key to community growth. In addition to water, stormwater, and wastewater systems, public facilities and transportation networks must be proactively planned to accommodate future needs without compromising community character or affordability. We can structure a long-range plan for capital improvements based on current system data and anticipated capacity needs. We can help identify potential funding mechanisms to construct and maintain gradually growing systems. We can advise on resiliency and emergency preparedness to meet the needs of changing regulations and climate. We can help write RFPs or grant applications, create project plans, and utilize the Envision framework to uncover more benefits to utility owners, maintainers, and the community they serve.
Renewable Energy Supply
Energy supports our existence through changing seasons and extreme weather as well as adding convenience to our day-to-day activities. Clean and renewable energy solutions support both our ability to enjoy the outdoors and sustain our own growing energy-based needs and conveniences for decades to come.
